Bob Foland, CFP®
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™
Bob is the president and owner of The IRA Specialists. He’s been working in the financial industry for 33 years, and has guided many clients through their transitions to retirement with his honest, straightforward advice.
Bob attended Carson Newman College (now known as Carson Newman University) before attending Duke University. He entered the financial industry in June of 1988 and received his Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 1992. After 10 years of working in the industry, Bob founded The IRA Specialists as an independent advisor.
There are many aspects of his career that Bob enjoys, but above all, he enjoys the people he works with and the problems that he helps them to solve. A problem-solver at heart, he gets a thrill out of identifying and helping clients avoid costly mistakes in their investments, or helping them minimize the taxes taken out of their retirement funds. But equally enjoyable is the time he spends getting to know his clients on a personal level.
Bob grew up in the South, but now resides in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. When he’s able to get out of the office, he enjoys spending his time outdoors—fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley. Bob has been married to his wife, Sally, for 35 years and they have a daughter together, who also lives in the Denver area.
Deep down, Bob is a lifelong learner. He loves that there is always something new to learn in the financial industry, and is constantly working to educate himself and stay abreast of changes in today’s financial environment. He strives to share that love of learning with his clients by educating them to take on a more active role in their own financial planning.
